Another Bright Idea

Thomas Edison must be rolling over in his grave.

In 2005, Congress passed a law banning outdoor mercury vapor streetlights – two years before it banned indoor incandescent light bulbs in favor of mercury vapor compact florescent bulbs.

Here is a classic case of the government working at cross purposes. Washington is forcing residents across the country to install mercury lighting inside their homes while phasing out mercury lighting outside homes to protect the environment.

We're removing mercury from outside the home while adding it inside.

What we should get rid of is liberalism that fosters such nonsense.

Terror in Norway

Does anyone remember back in November, 2009, when a US Army Major Nidal Hasan went on a rampage and killed 13 fellow soldiers and wounded 30 others?   As he fired on unarmed soldiers he yelled the traditional Islamic, "Allahu Akbar!"   Major Hasan was an Islamic terrorist in every sense of the word, yet the mainstream media, Attorney General Holder, President Obama, and even the Pentagon went out of their way to insist that he was not a terrorist, just a misguided lone wolf.   It was forbidden even to mention that he was a Muslim.
Fast forward to July 22, 2012..........
Yesterday, a deranged Norwegian went on a rampage shooting 80 or so people at a youth camp.  The first thing I heard on the radio this morning was a description that he was a "fundamentalist Christian."
Anyone care to comment on this obvious double standard?

Not enough taxes or too much spending?

The current stalemate over the budget issue demonstrates the fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives.    Liberals want an all-powerful government who takes care of everyone... income redistribution, equal outcomes instead of equal opportunity, less military and more "social justice."  It is a philosophy that once entrenched is almost impossible to dislodge.   Never mind the historical failure of liberalism every time and everywhere it is tried.  Is the grand experiment of representative government doomed to fail?   We have perhaps one and only one small window of opportunity to reverse the insidious trends we now see in the United States.   For lovers of freedom and liberty the national elections of 2012 will determine the direction our nation will take FOREVER.   We stand at the intersection of the Yellow Brick Road.

Old McBama

Old McBama had a farm..
Hee ai hee ai oh...
And on his farm he had a Czar...
Hee ai hee ai oh.
With a Drug Czar here, and a Drug Czar there...
Hee ai hee ai oh.

Etc., etc. etc.

The Messiah anointed One, Most High now has about 35 "Czars" with no end in sight.
How convenient to have powerful appointed policy-makers (cronies and thugs) who aren't accountable to anyone and don't have to be approved by the Senate and don't have any Congressional oversight.
The Czars tell banks, auto makers, and insurance companies what to do and when to do it. Soon, they will be telling doctors and all businesses what to do, when to do it and to whom.

I want just one more "Czar".....
I want a Presidential Eligibility Czar to check up on Obama's original birth certificate.

"Don't Call Me "Ma'am"

On June 17, Senator Barbara Boxer presumed to take to task Gen. Michael Walsh, a general officer of the US Army, during an Environmental and Public Works Committee hearing on Capital Hill.Boxer, who is running for re-election in 2010, haughtily chided Gen. Walsh for referring to her as "ma'am" instead of "senator" and the whole embarrassing incident was shown on C-Span.We now have the inside scoop on exactly what the General was thinking while he politely sat through Boxer's little rant:"Senator Boxer, as a long-time member of the US Military whose only objective in life has been to protect and defend the United States, I take exception to you and your immature and uninformed reaction to the title, "Ma'am." As anyone who has served in the military knows, the title, "Ma'am" along with the title, "Sir" are used to address ladies and gentlemen and are a sign of respect and honor. In fact, it may be said that Sir and Ma'am are more respectful than the title "senator" as not all senators are deserving of respect and honor. You say you worked hard for your title but, really, how hard is it for a wealthy liberal to be elected to the US Senate from the State of California? If you were a conservative of little wealth, then that would be a far more significant achievement.Your pomposity and arrogance are not worthy of further comment except to say thatI will be happy to address you as Senator from now on as Ma'am truly does seem inappropriate in your case. I look forward to the day when I can call you "Former Senator Boxer."

Animal Farm

In every "progressive" movement, whether environmentalism, socialism, atheism, or any other "ism"; there are two groups: the True Believers, and the Totalitarians.

The True Believers are the foot soldiers. These folks actually believe that CO2 is a pollutant, that God does not exist, or that they can raise their standard of living by making rich men poor.

The totalitarians are the "limousine liberals." These are the ones that Orwell so aptly described in Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." They do not truly care about the poor, or religion, or any other cause, but rather they just welcome any excuse to exercise control over others.

The most dangerous people in the world are Liberals who are BOTH.
